Nicola La Volpe; più sotto: Napoli 23 Dicembre 1856 L’architetto Direttore di r.li Scavi Pompeiani G Genovese. Soprintendenza Archeologica di Napoli ADS4S1. Sulla parete S del ninfeo (F) o su quella N di (G) erano dipinte statue di Satiri danzanti, con la stessa funzione delle Ninfe-Fontana presenti sulle pareti O, o delle Sfingi presenti negli angoli. Minervini (BAN 1856) così descrive il tipo dei Satiri, o giovani Pan: “Par che muova i piedi alla danza; egli ha nebride e pedo ed innalza la destra, ove tiene un ciato o un bicchiere”. Il disegno, non più riscontrabile con gli originali lasciati sul posto senza alcuna protezione e del tutto scomparsi, risponde in pieno alla descrizione e, in particolare, il giovane satiro regge una coppa (kyatos) il “ciato” di Minervini.

On the S wall of the nymphaeum (F) or on the N wall of (G) statues of dancing Satyrs were painted, with the same function as the Nymphs-Fountains present on the W walls, or the Sphinxes present in the corners. Minervini (BAN 1856) thus describes the type of Satyrs, or young Pans: “He seems to move his feet to dance; he has nebride and pedo and raises his right hand, where he holds a ciato or a glass”. The drawing, no longer identifiable with the originals left in place without any protection and completely disappeared, fully corresponds to the description and, in particular, the young satyr holds a cup (kyatos) the "ciato" of Minervini.
