Sulla sinistra si vede l'ingresso dell'ambiente (IV) una delle stanze del mezzanino, dalla quale si passava nella stanza (V), altrimenti accessibili da S solo attraverso un ponte, probabilmente di legno, appoggiato alla scala (e). Il corridoio che seguiva la scala è pavimentato in cocciopesto con filari di tessere bianche; al fondo si scorge la sottile parete divisoria di (Q), al primo piano sottostante. Le pareti sono rivestite di intonaco grezzo. 78 N62694

53. The staircase (a) leading down to the first floor below, continuation of the first section (u), accessible to the room of the same name. On the left is the entrance to room (IV), one of the rooms on the mezzanine, from which one passed into room (V), otherwise accessible from the S only across a bridge, probably made of wood, leaning against the staircase (e). The corridor that followed the staircase is paved in cocciopesto with rows of white tiles; at the back you can see the thin dividing wall of (Q), on the first floor below.
