According to Wilhelmina, ‚“It is quite possible that the four badly broken, little marble statuettes found in the triclinium were part of the decoration from the garden area, and like the statue of the Ephebe had been brought into the house for protection, or perhaps to be mended after the earthquake.‚” The statuette of Pan was restored from nineteen fragments, and was made of white marble but it showed definite evidence of having been completely gilded.
