I've been working on geometric patterns and developing compositions with these patterns over the past nine years. This style began as quick sketches in my notebooks during high school and has become more complex and influenced by other artists over time. I started making deliberate choices in the compositions after looking at the geometric patterns in paintings by Gustav Klimt and Kazimir Malevich. In "The Town" by Malevich, his use of shapes and patterns to create a dreamy, slightly abstracted scene of a town wrapped around a body of water has led me to explore landscapes and natural scenes using simple shapes and colors. My mural is a landscape, featuring a golden moon rising, surrounded by abstracted fields, clouds, and stars.
